Brighton Racing

Brighton is one of Britain's greatest seaside resorts and has proved enduringly popular with visitors and holidaymakers of all ages. A vibrant social scene, wealth of entertainment and recreational options, and rich cultural and historic landmarks certainly draw the crowds and Brighton Racecourse, recently redeveloped with a new grandstand and superb facilities, complements all the other attractions of Brighton perfectly. Situated just 2 miles from the town centre on Race Hill, Brighton Racing course has excellent views over the town and out to sea.

Brighton Racing, inside rail Brighton Racing track is open-ended in an extended horseshoe shape, just one of three racecourses in the country, along with Newmarket and Epsom, which is not a circuit. The mile and a half of undulating track and unpredictable camber makes for thrilling flat races which require skill and experience, giving course specialists the upper hand.

The course hosts 19 fixtures over the season with the main events being the Big Day Out in July and the three day August Festival, an occasion which includes the John Smith's Brighton Mile and the highlight of the social calendar, Ladies Day.

Admission badges are available for the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure or the Premier Enclosure and admission includes free parking for cars and coaches.

The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure badge allows access to the seating within the main Grandstand, with great views over the course, the Parade Ring, where visitors can view the horses before each race and to the bar with tote betting facilities. There are a selection of food outlets too serving everything from fish and chips to hog roasts, and a picnic area, ideal for a family day out.

Premier Enclosure Badges allow admission into all the features and facilities of the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure as well as within the Premier Enclosure which offers superb views right on the winning post. The Premier Bar and Silks Restaurant are also found within the Premier Enclosure and present wonderful elegant environments for drinks and meals.

A raceday package is available which incorporates a table for the full afternoon at Silks Restaurant, admission badge, a full a la carte three course meal, glass of bucks fizz on arrival, tote betting facilities and televisions to watch all the race action, all for £55.00 per person.

Standard prices for admission are £13.00 per person for Grandstand and Paddock badges, and £18 per person for Premier badges.

Discounts and concessions are available for OAPs, students and registered disabled, who can access the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure for £9.00, with the option of an upgrade into the premier enclosure on race day for £5.00. Children under 16 years are admitted free to Brighton Racecourse, and with up to three children admitted for every paying adult, a family fun day at Brighton Racing has never been better value.

Brighton Racing, photo finish A 20% discount is available for advanced group bookings of 15 persons or more and there are a selection of special inclusive packages to suit anyone whatever their racing experience. The Fancy a Flutter package costs just £20 per person and includes access to the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure, a drinks voucher, race programme, and £5.00 tote betting voucher. Upgrades to the Premier Enclosure are offered for an additional £5.00.

The perfect Brighton Racing day option for those new to racing and who want to immerse themselves in the classic 'sport of kings' is the Classic Raceday package. In addition to a Premier Enclosure badge, two drinks vouchers and raceday programme, the package also includes tea and biscuits on arrival, a £5.00 tote betting voucher, and an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the racecourse. The Raceday package costs £35.00 with limited places available, early booking is recommended.

A full range of suites are additionally available, each with views over the course or parade ring. Each suite contains a private bar, television viewing and a wide range of betting options. Choose whichever suite best fits your requirements, from the Prince Regent suite which has a capacity for up to 160 persons, to the more intimate environment of the Channel or Sussex suites, which each hold up to 20 persons. A selection of different hospitality packages is available for each suite and further options include the Paddock Box, which has a private terrace and outdoor seating area, and marquees which can be booked to host parties for up to 700 guests.

For those who prefer to gain standard admission and wish to take in the facilities on offer in their own time, there is a selection of food and drink outlets on offer. Within the Premier Enclosure the ideal meeting place is the Premier Bar, which leads out into the lawn and Paddock Bar offers access to the parade ring and to the trackside for viewing.

The appropriately name Long Bar is found within the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure. Said to be the longest bar in Brighton, there is plenty of scope for drinks and also access to tote betting and Brighton Racing trackside viewing. Hot and cold snacks are available from the Cafe, and for traditional seaside fare there is Barrie Cope’s Seafood Bar.

The first class hospitality on offer at Brighton Racecourse extends to the events and conferences held within the many superb event spaces. Certainly a picturesque backdrop to any event, state of the art facilities are in place to host a range of events from exhibitions and conferences to training events and private celebrations.
